Simple Cholesterol Lowering Tips For Every Day

Lowering cholesterol is an issue that millions of people are looking to. It is not that people are more weight conscious today and that is why cholesterol issues are being highlighted. Good health means good life and we need to care for it. There are many aspects of good life and good health, a routine centered on good eating habits & exercising. Cholesterol is directly connected to you eating habits. Only if you take a high-quality diet and avoid cholesterol producing foods you can avoid cholesterol. High cholesterol is not good for the body therefore level of cholesterol needs to be reduced.

HDL & LDL cholesterol are the 2 cholesterol types. While LDL is the bad cholesterol HDL is the good one. The truth is that HDL cholesterol aids in flushing out cholesterol whereas LDL allows cholesterol to remain seated within the walls of the arteries. The good thing is that you can fight LDL cholesterol.

Let's discuss how you can do that. Consuming mayonnaise, salami, hot dogs & bologna could be quite fulfilling but these foods contribute towards increasing cholesterol. That's not what you want, right? So your foods should be those that either aids in reducing cholesterol or then not contributing to it at least. Green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, whole wheat bread etc are good foods.

If possible completely avoid processed foods and also foods that contain saturated fats. Drop food that contains trans fats because such food only increases LDL cholesterol plus reduces the level of the good HDL cholesterol.

Additionally foods like margarine, shortening, and food laded with some hydrogenated soybean oil is a complete no. Food rich in Omega-3 should be adopted into your diet. Salmon too is recommended therefore purchase varieties of red salmon, as they happen to be amongst the best Omega-3 sources likewise Flax also contains considerable amounts of Omega-3.

Get your hands on almonds, pecans, walnuts & cashews; they contain fat but not harmful ones. Instead reduce your appetite for rich desserts. Switch to alternatives such as jelly, angel food cakes, fat-free yogurts or even crackers!

Rich fiber can be found in fresh green vegetables something that helps lower cholesterol. Cereals, oatmeal, vegetables, beans and fruits are highly nutritious and aid in cutting the bad cholesterol. Avoid fried food, eat grilled food be it burgers or steak. This way the ingestion of fatty grease is subsided immensely. Regarding oil use olive oil, highly recommended. Fast food is better to avoid or have it once in a while. These suggestions are for your good health only not to deprive you of something you love doing.
